About Me
Hi everyone! I am Brittany and the creator of CraftMonsterz! I graduated from Grand Valley State University and worked as a Recreational Therapist (planning activities in a nursing home), then became a nanny and now I am a stay at home mom. I have two fun little boys that I love creating a variety of kid’s activities for. My favorite activities involve cheap or repurposed materials. The most common phrase used around our house is, “wait! Don’t throw that out. I bet I can make an activity out of that!” My absolute favorite recycled material to use is cardboard. The possibilities of a cardboard box are endless!
Our Name
Before the covid quarantine, my mothering style involved always being on the go. We went to playgroups, storytimes, museums, libraries…everywhere, every day of the week. Then covid hit and I was forced to get a little more creative. I had no idea how much I would enjoy creating activities for my boys. It grew into a real passion.
I started off by sharing my kid’s activities on an Instagram account and at the time, my oldest son was obsessed with all things monsters. He refused to wear anything but his monster pajamas all day, every day. If I wanted him to participate in crafts, I would make them monster themed, and they would be a guaranteed hit with him. So the name CraftMonsterz was born. Even though my son has gone through multiple passions and interests since then, I still love the name and the reminder of my little monster lover.
